This study was conducted to examine the effect of food experience factors on the satisfaction of the experience and the performance of festivals. The most important factor in choosing a destination in recent food tourism is food experience. This study applied 4Es of the theory of experience economics of Pine & Gilmore (1998). To achieve the purpose of this study, A survey was conducted with visitors to the Jeollabuk-do Cultural Tourism Festivals. Exploratory factor analysis, confidence analysis, and regression analysis were performed among the four sub-factors of the food experience factor, recreational experiences, deviant experiences, and aesthetic experiences except educational experiences had an effect on experience satisfaction. Experience satisfaction affected the economic, cultural and environmental performance, which is a sub-factor of the hosting performance. Also, the food experience factor had a weak influence on the overall host performance. Recreational and deviant experiences affected the economic, environmental and sociocultural outcomes, while educational experiences did not. Aesthetic experience has been shown to affect the economic and sociocultural outcomes. In order to promote the region and revitalize the local economy by attracting tourists based on the local tourism resources, various programs must be made to satisfy the food experience for successful hosting of the Cultural Tourism Festival in Jeollabuk-do. In addition, it is necessary to develop products that contain the cultural values of Jeollabuk-do and to promote the traditional culture.
