Report Errors
The validity and reliability of VO2max calculated by the estimation equation using 20-m Shuttle run and VO2max in the graded exercise test are reported in the preceding study, but the study on physiological changes resulting from each test, especially the change in lactic acid concentration, is insufficient. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of lactic acid concentration on the cardiopulmonary endurance function evaluation methods. Fourteen young elite male athletes were included. All subjects underwent graded exercise test, 20-m shuttle run, and lactate measurement. There was no significant difference between VO2max through the graded exercise test and VO2max calculated by the estimation equation through 20-m shuttle run. There was no significant difference in the change of lactate concentration according to the evaluation method of cardiopulmonary endurance function. These results might be useful for the training of lactic acid tolerance and fatigue measurement of young elite male athletes by analyzing the changes in lactate concentration through the 20-m shuttle run for cardiovascular endurance function test.
