Report Errors
This study, which focuses on the relation between FDI and trade, analyzes the effects of FDI on armed conflict. Considering the positive correlation between FDI inflows and trade volume, this study argues that the influence of FDI on international conflict should be examined by excluding or controlling for trade. This study finds that FDI significantly reduces international conflict even among the countries that have low levels of trade openness and even regardless with whether the trade variable was included or not.
