The study in on “Impairment Liability and Insurance as Restoration of Environmental Pollution Losses.” The object of this thesis is to study the environmental impairment liability law and the environmental impairment insurance and to consider the possibility of the introduction of the liability law and insurance in Korea. The demolition of environment is recognized as the most serious problem by our human beings, with the increase of population and the drain of resources. A few years ago, the problem of environment pollution was the specific problem in some advance countries, but this problem became the most serious issue that affect the human lives. So there should be the introduction environmental impairment liability law. It is required to prepare the environmental insurance, and prevent the environmental pollution problem in advance, and to restore and compensate the possible damage from pollution. The Social Insurance System, with the increase of role in modern society, includes a variety of areas such as Legal Expenses Insurance, Environment Insurance. In This respect, it is required to prepare the environmental insurance, and prevent the environmental pollution inadvance, and to restore and compensate the possible damage from pollution. In a conclusion, in Korea, there should be the introduction of the environmental insurance as soon as possible.
