The purpose of this study was to pave the way for developing intervention strategy to enhance adaptation by identifying type of college life of students with disability. This study used the Q-methodology to define type and describe the characteristics of college life of students with disability. After in-depth interviews with 7 students with disability and study of related literature, the final 32 Q-samples were selected by collecting the opinions of experts. Q-sorting was conducted by 20 P-samples. The PC-QUANL program was used for analyzing Q-sort data. Five distinctive type for college life of students with disability were identified: Ⅰ. Positive challenge, Ⅱ. Passive relationship-oriented, Ⅲ. Concern about negative future, Ⅳ. Psychological withdrawal, Ⅴ. Hopeful expectation for the future. College life of students with disability show unique type. This study can be useful in confirming the type of college life of students with disability and their characteristics, and can be used as the underlying data to develop tailored strategies for positive adaptation of students with disability.
