The study is the protection of victim of abuse involved in allegations of child abuse. Many incidents of child abuse occur all the time. But the real risk of child abuse comes from within their near-relatives: uncles, aunts, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers The study showed that 81 percent of child abuse last year took place in homes and 83 percent of the children were mistreated by their own parents. The real figures of child abuse are shocking, and child abuse wrecks lives. It perpetuates a cycle of child abuse. It has been serious. So, the study is tackling the issue of victims of abuse. The consequences of child abuse and neglect can be devastating and far-reaching. The truth is, of course, that we do not really know the extent of child abuse. However, I rest on the argument that something needs to be done for the sake of victims of abuse. The incidences of child abuse have been shown to cause much criminal activity later on in the victim's life. Cases of child abuse often go unreported. A victim of abuse needs someone to keep building up his or her self –esteem. Family structure also plays a big part in the risk of child abuse. The government has instituted victim protection system to help keep victim together after an instance of child abuse. A high percentage of child abuse takes place within family, involving physical and/or mental assault. There is a real need for professionals, social workers, teachers, parents and health visitors to be able to detect early signs of child abuse. It would be so much more effective if these “watchdogs” actually did something constructive about the problem of child abuse. Working Together notes that professional staff who come into contact with children should know of the predisposing factors and signs and indicators of child abuse. The police have a duty to investigate all allegations of child abuse fully and thoroughly, and in accordance with the law. Government must do more to encourage people to report cases of child abuse to authorities, and follow through when such reports come in.
