This paper discusses the “Spiritual Poetry” album of the Shikan in September 2003，focused on the artistic qualities of spiritual poetry，and examines the significance of its literary history. Spiritual poetry is a new poetic tendency in 21st century Chinese poetry field. Their artistic achievements and innovative artistic concept have a strong attraction. Because their poetry has a transitional characteristics of Chinese society with extinction，construction， and replacement. They are not in the position of the ruling class to plan and practice reality. Therefore，“Spiritual Poetry” contains the yearning for the forgotten past, and lament of the dying reality，anxiety and cautious expectations about the future. That is the mentality of Chinese people undergoing a drastic change. Spiritual poetry does not criticize reality; focus more on protecting humanity in the general social alienation. Their poetic language is not refined, and poetic image is not mature enough. However，one thing is certain: Spiritual poetry choose a road that is different from Western-oriented “Intellectuals Writing”, colloquial “Civil Position”, and other poetry groups who pursues fame. Their choice is one of the reasons that led Contemporary Chinese Poetry to rise.
