Han-Wu-Nei-Zhuan(漢武內傳), one of Zhi-Guai(志怪) novels of Wei Jin Nan Bei Chao era′s(魏晉南北朝), is a Shen-Xian(神仙) legend characterristic of Daoist thinking. The purpose of this thesis B to find out the historical significance of the novel as well as to evaluate its literary achievement. In the intrduction, I surveyed the relationship between Zhi-Guai(志怪) novel and Daoism. In Chapter Ⅱ which deals with the problems of establishment and version, after briefly stating the various kinds of existing hypothesis on author such as anonymous author theory, Ban-Gu(班固)·Ge-Hong(葛洪) theory, and Shang-Qing-Pai(上淸派) theory. In Chapter Ⅲ, I elucidated the novelistic characteristics of Han-Wu-Nei-Zhuan(漢武內傳) : in section, narrative structure, through the analysis of Daoist rirual, I concluded that the novel has a perfect ritual narrative and its content reveals ritualistic symbols. Finally in the conclusive Chapter Ⅳ, in addition to the summary of the thesis, I discussed the mfluence of Han-Wu-Nei-Zhuan(漢武內傳) on the later generation. In an attempt to examine its influence on poetry and drama as well as novel, I emphasized its significance in the whole literary history.
