An analysis on subject matters in Wonhoylok an Classicl Korean novel has been carried out in the study. Themes of Gija(pray to God for son), dream, exile, and resuscitation have been discussed in it. Functions of the subject matters utilized in this literary work have been surveyed. And the meanings of these subject matters in this literary work have been analyzed as well. At first, Gija was arranged as a literary device that brightens the former existence of the heroes. A birth passing through Gija could make to show a descent of a human being from the heavenly world immediately. And furthermore the dream in this literary work was related to an appearance of god. A god communicated with the heroes through dream and helped him through very dream as well. The exile had a violence that made the heroes to discharge to the world, which could be considered as a sort of persecutions that opponents gave to him. The resuscitation signified a deceased already survives again by borrowing the body himself. And the resuscitation in this literary work was realized by causing a pure fidelity of a deceased. The subject matters have been operated importantly in the configuration of the literary work Wonhoylok as analyzed in the proceeding. All of those have functioned as the key materials that this literal work has been composed. Analysis on the subject matters could be a method to comprehend the work itself more deeply.
