This paper is based on Christian educational theories and practices, and uses the method of documentary research. Many teachers in Korean churches have a difficult time teaching teenagers in that the teenagers think and act in a way that the teachers would never have imagined when they were young. In this situation, teachers approach students with methods fitting to the teachers’ culture. Strictly speaking, this is a problem of educational methods, not a conflict between teachers and students. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to make a new teaching model for youth in Korean churches on the basis of the combination of different kinds of educational methods in holistic dialectical structure. Specifically, in order to establish a theoretical basis the researcher will examine theories of some Christian education scholars and look at educational methodology according to the Paulo Freire’s teaching system (Banking, Problem-posing, and Praxis). After that, the researcher will make a holistic dialectical teaching model for youth in Korean churches and present concrete examples of teaching practice that can be applied to church education fields. This paper will show one of practical applications of holistic theology, give new insights to Christian education, and help teachers in churches efficiently, effectively, and systematically teach teenagers.
