Jeon, J.Y., Kim, T.W. The effect of 12 week combind exercise on cardiovascular risk factors and inflammation markers in obese middle school girls. Exercise Science, 17(2) : 173-182, 2008. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of combined exercise program on cardiovascular risk factors and inflammation markers. Twenty two subjects, who was the rate of body fat more than 30% and body mass index more than 95 percentile according to age and sex. They were divided into two groups, the combined exercise group(EG, n=12) and the control group(CG, n=10). The combined exercise group performed the walking in 55% to 75% HRmax, 40~50 minutes a day for 2 days a week and the dumbbell was 12~20 repetitions per set, 3~4 set(40~45 minutes), a day for 2 days a week in 12 weeks. The results of this study were as follows; In the comparison of mean changes before and after the intervention programs within each group, T-C, HDL-C, glucose, insulin and HOMA-IR were significantly decreased in EG after 12 weeks. TG was increased and HDL-C was decreased in CG. CRP didn't appear a significant difference but TNF-α significantly increased in EG. CRP and TNF-α was significantly increased in CG. The interaction effect between groups and time showed a significant difference T-C, TG and TNF-α between groups as time went on. In conclusion, these results indicate that Despite of the positive improvement of body composition, cardiovascular disease risk factors and CRP didn't have a significant change but TNF-α was increased significantly after combine exercise. There is a controversy with increase or decrease in inflammation because they are influenced by the several potential harassing factors. Therefore, we should consider following studies concerned with genome factors, exercise intensity and exercise period.
