Since 1970 years deconstruction is widely used methodology of postmodernism in arts, architecture, fashion and culture. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between makeup expression techniques in fashion collection by Derrida's deconstruction theory. Especially, the analysis of various make-up styles in the collections from 2000 to 2008 years was focused on androgyny and ethnicity. The result is as follows: Androgynous breaks down the boundary of gender. It is expressed as androgynous make-up which shows both gender of male and female and presents distinguished images of gender. Ethnicity exists in the connection of make-ups in the past and the future. It is expressed as White make-up, Kohl make-up, Punk make-up, and Raceless make-up. White make-up uses white color to make a skin white. Kohl make-up changes the frame and colors by using the kohl from the past. Punk make-up only uses black color to express destructiveness and abomination. Anti-mainstream is a motive of Raceless make-up and expresses various kinds of cultures by emerging from a standardization. Deconstruction make-up is more creative and unconventional compared to other common make-up styles and expresses more freely. It also does not keep one kind of characteristic. One can interpret it in various ways since it can be varied in techniques and images and has positive links in the aspects of deconstruction. Therefore, various experiments in make-up need to be attempted and new products need to be developed.
