By analyzing Penelope and Bali, I can find each distinctive women type in the myth of the east and the west and by analyzing Myeonghae who is representing modern woman type, I can find a new woman who is trying to find a ego by the different method. Penelope was representing traditional woman type which are completed by the ‘wait’ and ‘maternity’. Because ‘wait’ and ‘maternity’ can be considered as woman’s most important types while this woman type is appeared in the tale, we should approach this tale with close attention. We can find the same point with Bali. Therefore, many fairy tales which are focused on the Bali’s heroic behavior should be published and it is not better to focus on the Bali’s sacrificial woman type. Compared to Penelope and Bali, Myeong’s woman type is the most progressive case in the woman types of existing tales. By comparing two subjects such as a duty of offspring to prosper her family and a desire to go her own way and by selecting the latter, the writer clearly showed her woman type that she is pursuing.
