In globalized world, working conditions of a country is not confined to the country, but related to neighbor countries. Especially to Korean, who left the door open into or from Asian enterprise, working conditions of Asian countries’ workers is closely related to those of Korean workers. In this sense, Bangladesh is one of the important countries, as the amount of wage per an hour is the least in the world. I have been interested in Bangladesh labor issues since the Rana Plaza building collapse in 2013, where more than 1,100 workers died. This paper summerized the history and contents of Bangladesh Labor Law(BLL). BLL is a consolidation of the 25 separate acts. Going back to the past, labor law system is more than a century old in Bangladesh. The first labor law was enacted in the Indian sub-continent during the British period, in 1881. Bangladesh also enacted additional laws in response to the changing circumstances and needs of the country. In 2006 the country adopted the Bangladesh labor law of 2006, or BLL. The comprehensive nature of the law can be gleaned from its coverage -- conditions of service and employment, maternity benefit, heath and hygiene, safety, welfare, working hours and leave, wage and payment, workers’ compensation for injury, trade unions and industrial relations, labor court, workers’ participation in companies profits, etc. In 2013, Bangladesh revised BLL to boost worker rights, including the freedom to form trade unions, after the building collapse. but ILO and many activists said it failed to address several concerns and blamed the government tor enacting the law in a hurry to please foreign government and NGOs.
