This study seeks to examine North Korea Policy under New Trump administration and the future direction of U.S.-North Korean relations. It will also illuminate the implications for security environment of Korean peninsula. During the most period of Obama administration, U.S.-North Korea relations have stalemated largely due to the confrontation of American ‘Strategic Patience’ policy and North Korea’s nuclear weapons policy. Many critics point out that Obama’s North Korea policy has failed to curb Pyongyang’s ambition to become nuclear weapons state. New U.S. administration of Trump President-elected will review Obama’s North Korea policy and is expected to formulate a new policy toward Pyongyang. which may be a mixture of carrots and sticks. It is expected that Trump administration will attempt to resume dialogue with North Korea at first. However, it may turn to an aggressive policy when it is proved that Pyongyang has no willingness to give up nuclear ambition.
