Nag-won musical instrument shopping center located in Seoul was built in 1969. This building is a huge complex mall comprised of over 400 shops. 'Nag-won building' is a representative musical instrument shopping mall in Korea. This paper was motivated from a question 'why are most of shops in this building selling musical instruments.' The challenge of this study was that it is very difficult to find witnesses who had memories accurately. Moreover, there are few papers published but they deal with a construction part of this building. This study consist of with two subjects. First one is the change of Nag-won building. The other one is the formation of musical instrument shop and musician market related with entertainment spots. In conclusion, we could know the key factors of the change of Nag-won building were 'deregulation of cultural policies and easing restriction to imported musical instruments.'
