The wars between Zhou people and northwest minorities were the significant historical phenomena in the Western Zhou dynasty, the outcomes of the wars directly influenced the history development of the Western Zhou dynasty. Based on analysis of the historical documents and the archaeology materials, we can find the offensive and defensive posture constantly changing in the wars between Zhou people and northwest minorities. Research shows that the deterioration of ecological environment after the Holocene warm period had directly affected the development of agricultural economy, and shaken the foundation Western Zhou Dynasty relied on, and affected the wars’ trends. Because of arid climate, The West Zhou regime gradually lost its economic power to against the Northwest Minorities, Its capital was forced to shift from west to east, until king Ping (平王)moved the capital to Luoyang, lead the Western Zhou dynasty to perish.
