What Korean think about Jews, what about Jewish Images? what is different between yesterday and today, and why is changed, Is there Antisemitism in Korean Society? If so, what shall be done? This thesis aims to examine those questions. There were hardly any Jews in Korea on the late 19th~the early 20th century. Although Jews were minor in the Korean society, Jews took very important roles and contributions to Korea's modern history and society. However it was premature to establish general impression of the Jews at that time. In mid-1960, the <Protocols of Elders of Zion> was translated into Korean. Nevertheless it has brought about admiration of the Jewish brilliance rather than provoking Antisemitism among the readers. At this time Jews were considered as mythical. These positive thoughts about the Jews probably started to emerged from the great interest of General Park, Joung Hee in the Politics and the Military of Israel, which he used in maintaining his dictatorship. During 1960-70, very positive, even mythical ideologies concerning Israel and Jews were developed in Korea. I call it "Politicalization of the Jewish Images" In the late 1970', political and diplomatic relations between the two countries has disappeared, but the love of the common people towards Israel lead to increased effort in keeping the little relation that was left. Why Jewish Students are so predominant? How did so many Jews get the Nobel Prize? (Tell me some secret, please.) How do Jews controlled all major banks, media, wall street etc? Traditionally the Korean passion for education in very special and thus the effort to use Jewish Education was great. Even in the kindergartens when "Jewish Education" techniques are added then children overflow that same kindergarten. The alliance between the two countries significantly increased due to visits and pilgrimage, which reached 30,000 people on peak. I call it "Commercialization of the Jewish Images." If we start from the conclusion then "Antisemitism" is a very new concept in the Korean society. The emergence of Anti-American movement and anti-Semitic phrases which overflow the internet greatly catalyzes the spread of Antisemitism in Korea since 9-11, 2001. What are the reasons and the causes for these? Where did this Anti-American and Antisemitic thoughts emerge from? I am not sure where the contemporary Antisemitism in Korea will lead to high level, but I wonder that the last of the country that is devoid of Antisemitism is going to disappear. It is in a border-crossing position / line now. There must be great effort from both sides in order to prevent such thing from happening. Alvin H. Rosenfeld wants to say in his book,《Anti-Americanism and Anti-Semitism: A New Front of Zealotry》(2003) that "anti-Semitism and anti-Americanism reveal certain structural similarities and often take recourse to a common vocabulary of defamation and denunciation. And he says that "They have become intimately bound up with one another, so much so that it sometimes seems that the growing hatred of America is but another form of Judeophobia - and vice versa."
