This study aims at building an interregional economic model in order to estimate the economic interdependences between core and periphery in the growth center linkage system. Interactions between core and periphery are largely divided into four categories: industrial linkage effects, employment effects, income effects, and investment effects. The results from this study are expected to suggest following policy implications. First, the common problem facing growth center policy is recognizing the appropriate timing of policy changes to solve existing authoritydependency relations in a dynamic spatial system. The result of this model will enable policymakers to understand the extent of the authoritydependency relations between core and periphery. Second, the results from this study can suggest which sectors in which region should receive investments for the development of the periphery. Third, the model provides policy-makers with detailed information about the interrelations between core and periphery.
