The purpose of this study was to identify the issues and countermeasures of the newly implemented medical terminology policy and to provide opportunities of reconsidering this policy by the people related to the fields of medical and healthcare. For this purpose, we have tried to find out raised many of problems based on the results of previous studies, media reports, and surveys. Throughout this research, we found out various problems and difficulties. And those are as follow; including the sociality of the terms, historicity, the problem of formality, professionalism, the entanglement of the curriculum, the cooperative disruption in the clinical medical field, contradiction, the trend of globalization, discomfort about the number of syllables, and the inability to search the internet. In addition, a survey on the general public to find out the familiarity of new medical terms revealed that the recognition of new medical terms was lower than the existing ones, In this study, we considered the feasible alternatives, and these call for re–discussing new medical terminology policies and sufficient feedback, regression to existing terminology for the agreed medical terms, change in order of medical dictionary description and presenting the existing term first, and implementation of maintenance of periodic and continuous terminology. And we suggest proper and consistent enforcement standards should be applied and implemented to the new medical terminology policy.
