This study investigates the current state of Taiwan night markets, examines the characteristics and problems of night market, and reviews the improvement plan and development direction. Chapter 1 describes the purpose and significance of this study as an introduction. Chapter 2 explains the origin of the night market in China, and then describes the current state of night market in Taipei. China`s night market has already existed in East Han dynasty, and Taiwan`s night market has a history of more than a hundred years. Currently, there are 17 night markets in Taiwan, usually open from 4 ~6 pm and close at 12 pm ~2 am. The night market covers a variety of items such as food, clothing, accessories, and miscellaneous goods, among which almost half of the food is consumed. Chapter 3 discussed what the night markets is having, what improvement efforts have been made to solve the problem, and what directions should be taken to further develop the night markets. The problems were pointed out to be outdated facilities, excessive use of disposable items, and conflict with neighbors. Improvements include complementing modern facilities such as free Wi-Fi, safety signs for disposable items, implementation of fixed-price system, and harmony of tradition and modernity. Chapter 4 is a conclusion. I would like to take a good look at the current status of the night market in Taiwan, which is renowned all over the world, so that it will help Korea"s tourism industry and the distribution industry.
