This study suggests several types and strategies of father education programs, and role of parent educator based on relevant studies of father education programs as follows.
First, a desirable type of father education program consists of father child acivity time and dissusion time centering on the themes of child development, child nuturing and the activity of the day.
Second, the desirable day for father education program is Saturday. The appropriate class time is 1~2 hours. A proper number of participants should be at least 15 father child pairs. The desirable place is kindergartens or preschools.
Third, program stratigies, concerning implementing the programs, 1) Induce fathers" partication in the programs. Then, make the environments of kindergartens, preschool comfortable and friendly for fathers. 2) Plan activities appropriate for the characteristics of fathers and children"s development. 3) Help fathers to feel comfortable during the implementation of the programs.
Fourth, the role of parent educator should be a model, a counselor, a facilitator and an observer during the implementation of the program. In order to succesfully implement the programs, the well prepared parent educator"s role is most important.
