This study aimed to investigate the positive appraisal of care work held by care workers in the elderly care facilities and to analyze the effect of care worker’s positive appraisal of care work on care service quality. For the purpose of the study, the survey was conducted and the data were collected from 298 care workers by using non-random and purpose sampling method. The results of the survey are as follows: First, the result showed that positive appraisals of care work were rather good and was different, based upon geographies of the elderly care facilities, the shift systems of work and employment status. The results of the study showed care worker’s positive appraisal of care work had statistically significant influence to care service quality. Finding of the study indicated that care service quality could be improved by strengthening care worker’s positive appraisal of care work. Finally, based on the findings of the study, implications and limitations of the study were discussed.
