This study aimed to clarify the influence of personal ability, family environment, and school environment on the subjective happiness of children. The study was based on the elective 10th Investigation of the Korean Welfare Panel. Participants were 444, 4-6th grade elementary school students whose responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlations, and hierarchical regression. The main findings were as follows. First, the subjective happiness score of children was above average. Second, participants’ subjective happiness was positively correlated with school psychological environment, intimacy in school community, academic achievement, parental involvement and guidance, strategies for coping with family conflict, self-esteem, attachment to one’s friends, and health. However, children’s subjective happiness was negatively correlated with the stresses of academic achievement, child abuse, and parental neglect. Finally, three variables were identified as having a significant influence on the subjective happiness of children. Implications were discussed to support the improvement of children’s subjective happiness.
