The meaning of a word in all categories of English words includes the path feature with orientedness. The path feature appears in motion events, in orientedness of meaning, in light verb phrases, and in emotion- causing verbs. The structure of the meaning for a noun also has a path feature. It is presented in the relationship between nouns and verbs, which are zero-derived. For adjectives, there is the path feature, too. The orientedness of the path feature in adjectives exists in the root of the word, in derived adjectives, and in inflectional adjectives. Finally, the words in the prepositional category also have the path feature. It is located in the internal structure not only for prepositions which have the overt path feature but also for prepositions which don"t seem to have the overt path feature. In brief, the structure of meaning for an English word can be understood easily when the word is analyzed in terms of the orientedness for the path feature.
