Some empirical Bayes - P* procedures for selecting the best population among k(≥2) normal populations with unknown means and common known or unknown variance are proposed by using some empirical Bayes estimates of the hyperparameters for the unknown means and variance suggested by Morris(1983). The efficiencies between Bayes-P* selection and empirical Bayes-P* selection are also compared via Monte Carlo simulationas the values of P* and sample size change.
