Social integration should be considered within border of a specific nation state because it is related to socialization of new members of society. However, socialization and social integration must be considered also by universal human rights. A nation state perspective also includes a specific and particular trajectory of the modern nation state. Korean society has experienced unique paths of modernization in history, for example, discrepancy between citizen identity and Kookmin identity. So social integration is a very tough job in Korea. Many researches and policies focus on individual centered expedients for social integration. This study suggests that building social capital and community between natives and immigrants(especially, Vietnamese immigrants). By forming social capital, Koreans will be able to restore social bonding with immigrants as well as other Koreans. Building economic communities with immigrants will provide some chances of economic contribution by immigrants for Korean society. In this process of building social capital and community with immigrants, the degree of social conflicts and struggle will be weakened and Korean society will advance for socially integrated destination of new Korean society.
