This study attempts to investigate the various institutionalized participation of immigrants in Germany and derives German way of integration policy and policy implications for South Korea. The analysis results of this study are as follows. The German government guarantees the rights and obligations for social participation within the framework of liberal democracy in order to achieve social integration for immigrants. German immigrant self-help groups form a committee for conducting research and projects through collaboration between the German government and immigrants. In particular, Germany attracts immigrants through regular events every year, such as Integration Summit and Islam Conference. The summit tries to achieve a variety of discussions and social integration on immigration issues. Moreover, in Germany, immigrants' opinions are reflected in the actual policy at official meetings to stimulate their participation. The future direction of multicultural policy in Korea should consider to provide support for participation of immigrants in various fields. In order to solve social problems that have been arising in current Korean society, communicating channels such as committees and forums where immigrants can participate need to be institutionalized. And it will be necessary to induce regular and practical participation activities.
