The purpose of this study was to understand demands for sport industry policies using social big data analysis. The big data solution, ‘TextoM’ developed by ‘The IMC corporation’ was used to achieve this purpose in this study. From July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016, social big data related to 10 sport industry policies such as research & development, fund of funds in the sport industry, financial support, and test and accreditation of sport goods and equipment were collected from news, blogs, cafes, Jisikin, and webpage of portal site Naver. In order to collect the voice of customer for 10 sport industry policies without duplication or omission as much as possible, policy names and main keywords of policies were used. As a result, a total of 991,387 data were collected. For data analysis, text mining, sentiment analysis, and semantic network analysis were used in this study to examine the high frequency of accompanying keywords in sport industry policies, the relevance of the main keywords that appeared together, and positive and negative images of the policies. Based on results of these analyses, the perceptions and demands of sport industry policy consumers were identified and insights and policy suggestions were presented.
