The purpose of this article is to provide a basis for the development of educational programs that can be healthy and rational citizens by deepening the psychological effects and social functions of money to the students living in consumerism society.
To accomplish this objective, I approached it in two ways; 1) As a main psychological study of money, I examined the main contents of motive psychology, socio-cultural psychology, and behavioral economics. 2) As deep psychological studies on money, I examined the approach of evolutionary psychology and cultural psychology.
In conclusion, I presented the goals, contents, and methods of money psychology as a liberal education.
