This study analyzed discussions by the audience who watched investigative films dealing social issues on the Internet. This study conducted the content analysis on discussions about three films dealing with sexual assault including <Silenced>, <Hope> and <Han Gong-ju>. Three films have the same theme of sexual assault but different cinematic expressions. It was regarded that contents of discussions would vary as expression styles of films. Based on precedent arguments, this study examined the public interest, film interpretation mode, social participation, rationality of discussion in terms of contents of a discussion, verifying if movie related blogs played a role of a public sphere through such discussion contents. Findings of the content analysis are as follows. Cinematic expression technique and story development have an effect on formation of a public sphere. Besides, in case of films handling social issues directly, presenting the good and evil and specifying an object for criticism, helped audiences to develop into the socially engaging public. Consequently, it is the audience who completes the significance of investigative films and the social meaning of the movies.
