Men’s appearances and behaviors have become the interests of concern, men also have become the focus of atheistic crities rather than women in Wei-Jin period. 『A New Account of Tales of the World』 expertly describes the men those who have a good-looking appearance and talents, such as Ji Kang, He Yan, Pan Yue, Wei Jie. These Men are called ‘Handsome Men’ as well, who represent Wei-Jin’s ‘Celebrity’. In other word, we can easily find that the roles of these men, the responsibilities of society, country as a ‘Celebrity’ in Wei -Jin dynasty from the 『A New Account of Tales of the World』.
This book also describes excellent postures depicted a group of outstanding male images. They not only have a good-looking appearance, also have abilities of Qingtan(清談), freewheelingness. To be a real ‘handsome Men’, it generally need outstanding appearance, also need a white-skin, slight figure, and body like jade. People Those who lived in this period are really seek these fashions, are caused by social background, the awakening of the meaning of individual lives, rising of Metaphysics. They were both inextricably related with the aesthetic phenomenon that men’s appearances were great concern in the society.
