Main objectives of this study are to classify latent temporal patterns of child maltreatment occurrence and to identify the correlates of each latent group using the data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Study. This study selected 1,907 children who responded to every child abuse questions from the second wave to firth wave as study population. Two abuse types were physical abuse and emotional abuse. Temporal patterns of child maltreatment occurrence from Latent Class Growth Analyses were classified as no occurrence group, low level occurring group, increasing group, and decreasing group. Gender, self-esteem, frequency of acting-out behaviors, and parental recognition of child’s peers significantly predicted the risk of physical abuse, while gender, self-esteem, frequency of acting-out behaviors, self-perceived academic performance, and parental recognition of child’s peers significantly predicted emotional abuse. Research and practice implications were discussed.
