「Gongmudohaga」, the oldest lyric poetry in Korea, not being an established theory, was announced in China in HanSaGoon period. In addition, a poetry was printed along with a scene folktale and has dated back for quite a wheen of years. Therefore, many poets and intellectuals left poems and sentences regarding this. As expected, until this work which may have been a folk song in its infancy was recorded in Chinese literature, this work occurred and also repeated changes between a certain backround and cultural relation, which was enough to catch much interest of numerous scholars. And before this work appeared, there was the Book of Odes(『詩經』) in China, southern romantic literary genre, and a style of writing appeared. Considering the process of current of Chinese literature development history, Gongmudohaga may have been affected from these verse genres. And as we take a look at the text, a theme consciousness can change according to scholars’ viewpoint. By observing scholars’ study results at home and abroad, we can know it. Though it looks just like being in full bloom, it doesn’t seem that it comes out brightly due to the limitations of data or research method, etc.
This thesis approached at two viewpoints, “play in exorcism procedure taken actually”as shamanistic repose of souls, opinion raised most recently and I tried to explain related parts through the Book of Odes and surrounding study results. When considering surrounding cultural currents, I think that such probabilty can be admitted enough. However, due to the limitations of knowledge and experience on my Korean literature, folklore, etc. I take into account that I can’t grasp general looks. Compared to other many courses studied before, I feel more intensive and versatile study is needed. In other words, I feel like excavating and introducing systematically all data related to musical plays which appear between Han dynasty period and in all direction folk manners and seasonal, recreational offer in spring and autumn. Especially, I think It’ll be needed to approach data on not only literature and history in Korea and China but also folklore and anthropology centering on Chinese old books; besides, I suggest to translate and introduce works and papers of modern Chinese scholars regarding this.
I initially considered our ancient poetry attaching a title including Gujiga (「龜旨歌」) and Hwangjoga(「黃鳥歌」) as well as Gongmudohaga. These 3 works is so different from occurrence type and approach method through the Book of Odes that it is interesting for me to study. However, it is impossible for me to deal with these together in a thesis. It is a pleasure to read and review existing domestic published papers and data but I can’t use freely consistent study method and the tone of argument. After all, I got to choose one poem, Gongmudohaga. Likewise, I intend to study and review other ancient poems tied in with the Book of Odes.
