The purpose of this article is to discover the meaning and characteristics the meistersinger’s traditions of Turkic nations that form the so-called “Turkic belt” throughout the whole Eurasian continent, and then to dig out the intertextuality of such traditions. We attempt to figure out the diverse terms of meistersingers of 6 Eurasian Turkic countries including Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kirgizstan, the genres of their performance, their singing style, instruments, musicality, schools and teaching method, the change of meistersinger’s function and status, the correlation of epic song with shaman song, storyteller’s relation with audience, his improvisation, and the intertextuality of storytelling traditions of each country.
Those features are also found in Russian Altay and Sakha, Chinese Uighur and Korea.
Furthermore, Eurasian Turkic meistersinger’s storytelling art is very meaningful intangible cultural heritage of mankind that could be the Silk Road identity. Though Eurasian Turks historically had formed dominant factor in the Silk Road regions since ancient times, they introduced letters relatively later and had few archival cultural heritage. That is why their culture was not in the center of attention in the world history of culture. Therefore, in order to comprehend the Silk Road in term of culture, its abundant intangible heritage such as epic songs merit attention. And then it could serve as an instrument of “rapprochement” of conflicts between civilizations because this heritage itself is the life, genealogy and identity for the Eurasian Turks who, being nomadic peoples, have established their identity through the oral works. Considering overall features this oral heritage imply, the intertextuality of meistersinger traditions of Eurasian Turks could lead to cultural as well as political solidarity in North Asia including Korea.
