This paper aims to analyze inscriptions on roof-tiles about Ilpum· Sampum troops which were units of the local army in the Goryeo dynasty. These materials were relics found at chiso-sung(治所城: castle for the administrative office in gun-hyeon(郡縣), a local administrative unit of Goryeo), excavated by Changwon and Busan cities. First, I offer to cross-check these inscriptions with others that required to explain them in this paper. And then, based on the results I look into functions and duties of the troops.
There are limits to blaze a trail in the field of historical research by lack of data. To overcome these limitations, we have to make efforts to seek new research methods and gather new materials.
