This article reached the following conclusions.
Firstly, The discourse on serving the Ming China in the early of Joseon period had character as diplomatical way to pursue peaceful relationship between Ming and Joseon, because the foundation of Joseon dynasty was resulted from the opposition of campaign toward Ming China that was planed by the former dynasty, Goryeo.
Secondly, The discourse on serving the Ming China in the early of Joseon period had character as political way to not only consolidate the new regime but also confirm the foundation the new dynasty by approval acquisition from Ming China. In this process, the ruling class figures of new dynasty asked emperor of Ming China for naming of their new dynasty, because it could appeal their submissive attitude toward Ming China contrary to their former dynasty, Goryeo.
However, thirdly The discourse on serving the Ming China in the early of Joseon period could exist only in range which not collide with other various ways to justify the foundation of new dynasty which had replaced Goryeo dynasty in Korea. In this context, the ruling class figures of Joseon dynasty did not feel any difficulty to subjugate Jurchens, and killed their chief who had government post of Ming China as well as tsushima island, because military campaign toward neighbor that exist out of border was one of most useful ways to level up state dignity and to justify the foundation of new dynasty.
In sum, The discourse on serving the Ming China in the early of Joseon period was not a superb value that dominate all other actions and values of Joseon dynasty, but one of political ways to justify and to consolidate the foundation of Joseon dynasty.
