In the late Yi Dynasty, many biographies of artists were created. By the way, the tradition of biography was stopped in the 20th century. Instead of that, many artist`s novels were created in the 20th century. Many main characters of artist`s novels believe that the value of art is extremely high. And they disregard everyday`s life. In these cases, wives of artists work for everyday`s life of their family. This tradition resembles that of high class in Yi Dynasty. Many artist`s novels were created under the development of capitalism in Japan colonial period, But the writers and main characters of artist`s novels criticized this system of capitalism. Speaking more concretely, they criticized the profane characters that made great money under the situation of this capitalism. This attitude of them has a close relationship with that of high class in Yi Dynasty. Both of them disregard economical importance. After the liberation of Korea in 1945, artist`s novels developed many new styles. And many new artist`s novels treated the relationship between art and political power.
