Although there have a great deal of policy efforts to invigorate a marine tourism, it has not successfully established as a part of tour products yet in Korea. An eco-tourism within a marine sanctuary has been also restricted to very partial areas. There have been enormous needs for the marine eco-tourism, however no participations or no positive efforts have supported the needs. In the light of this perspective, this study has been aiming at analyzing what factors have affected the attitudes and the behavioral intentions in terms of the marine eco-tourism in Korea.
The analysis shows that the intrinsic constrains negatively affect the attitudes and the behavioral intentions while the structural constrains is unhelpfully related to the attitudes. Both the intrinsic constrains and the structural constraints combined with the attitudes have a negative influence on the intention of actions. This result calls for prompt endeavors that include: 1) the elimination of the intrinsic constrains, by diversifying the marine eco-tourism based on travelers’ needs; 2) the political efforts for eradicating the structural constraints that include prevailing travelers’ unawareness, old tour facilities, and inconvenient transportations.
