In the grammatical discourse during the past twenty years there was special emphasis on the problems concerning the teaching of active and passive voice in foreign language. The work herewith presented aims to investigate the passive voice in the teaching of foreign languages, focusing on its functions. These basic attempts to describe significance and function of the passive are making sense and are possible only, if its usage and function are being illustrated with practical examples. The passive voice delivered by me should be seen as a further reflection on the functions and teaching, that - beginning with the level of phonology and morphology - have reached over time into growing levels of language and have eventually become its functional level. This will be followed by a description of the caused for learning difficulties that Koreans studying German are likely to encounter because of the linguistic and stylistic differences. Furthermore, the article contains didactic suggestion for the teaching of German as well as for lessening these learning difficulties. Moreover, the results of this analyses should not remain in vain isolation within the teaching of German, but rather invite application in the daily linguistic practice.
