Korean folkmusic is one of the central axis in Korean traditional music in company with the Korean classical music. The Korean classical music and the Korean folkmusic exchanged the influence in long their history. Especially, the study on the feature and the origin of korean traditional music is impossibility without the study on the Korean folkmusic.
We must study on the structure of the Jangdan(長短, the rhythmic cycle), the structure of melody, the tone color, the technique of playing music, etc., for the study on the Korean folkmusic. This diverse study will give a chance of solution in the problem on Korean tonal system.
The study on the Korean folkmusic get out the musical study, because the folkmusic is formed within the life of people. The study on the folklore, socialogy, psychology, pedagogy, philosophy, aesthetics, literature, physics, business administration, economics, etc., will require in the study on the korean folkmusic. These diverse researches will permit the comprehensive understanding about the korean folkmusic. And if you will consider the importance of music in the future human life, we must extend the studying domain to the music influence on human, the consumption and supply of folkmusic, etc. The preperation is ‘the sooner the better’.
