Recently, renewable energy can be considered as an alternative solution to current global issue of energy depletion. Algae-bio fuel, one of third generation bio fuels, is a bio product from sea plant, algae. This study focuses on the feasibility of algae-bio fuel as one component of synthetic bio fuel. Special attentions are made on the fuel characteristics of freezing and boiling point of algae-bio fuel by comparing those in hydrocarbon fuel such as RP-1 and JP-4. Also, flame temperature and specific impulse of algae-bio fuel are calculated by CEA code and compared with fossil fuel as a function of weight percentage of bio fuel. Results show that algae-bio fuel can be a good candidate of possible component of synthetic bio fuel for Gas Turbine engine and Liquid Rocket propellant.
