Spiritual energy(spiritual power, energy of the earth, or soul in other words) of a place has been an essential factor in deciding the location a place for living in ancient Korea. The place being considered such spiritual aspect has a quality of amenity so that a person who rests or sleeps in such place can receives pleasant energy. It also has been used as a place for praying for wishes.
Most important sites in Gyeongju, ancient capital city and World Heritage Site, such as Wolseong fortress, Hwangryongsa and Bunhwangsa temples are located in a place of full of spiritual energy. The motive of lasting Sila Dynasty(57 BC~935 AD) for a thousand history is deeply related with a way of deciding location of buildings of key function for the dynasty. Such sites has played an import role in fostering a constructive ideology and competent persons and establishing a foundation of exchanging constructive ideas. Perpetuity can be achieved when the material aspect is united with spiritual one and the foundation of achieving it is in the energy of a site. Deciding location and placing a ground stone is a part of cultural legacy. Intangible heritage can make life of mankind fill with full of richness because it is the place where the life of mankind is originated and perpetuated.
