The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of blog users’ self-presentation on their psychological well-being. In addition the present paper also aimed to analyze empirically the mediating effects of perceived interactivity during the process of self-presentation’s influence on psychological well-being. For the purpose of proving such effects, an online survey was conducted in March 2015 on blog users ranging from their teens through 60s who had experiences of running a blog, and the survey results from a total of 420 blog users were analyzed. A summary of the survey findings suggests that blog users’ self-presentation on their blogs was positively correlated with their psychological well-being. The mediating effects of perceived interactivity of blog users were also verified between self-presentation (for self-fulfillment & impression management) and psychological well-being. This paper is meaningful since it demonstrates that self-presentation through blogs has significant influence on the users’ psychological well-being, and that perceived interactivity serves as a mediator in the influencing relationship. Among the components of perceived interactivity, ‘user control’ and ‘two-way communication’, in particular, are shown to be statistically significant. This means that stronger perceptions of user control over the blogs and of two-way communication with blog visitors generally lead to a higher level of blog users’ psychological well-being.
