The operation of Airport railroad is started on the first phase which is connected between Incheon Int’l Airport and Gimpo Int’l Airport in March 2007. After then, it is operated on the full-line which is connected between Incheon Int’l Airport and Seoul station in December 2010. Airport railroad hereby became one of the major public transportations to connect Incheon Int’l Airport which is the representative gateway in Korea and downtown areas of Seoul. After starting the operation, the riders are continuously increased according to the customized services and aggressive efforts of marketing for increasing the demand. In addition, Airport railroad can function as intercity railroad between Seoul and Incheon area. Consequently station influence areas are gradually vitalized, and affect the regional development. In this study, we find characteristics of Airport railroad`s station influence areas and the regional development and apply the accessibility and the levels of station influence areas to Airport railroad. With this study results, the methods of improvement are proposed according to its level of station influence areas. Finally, it presents the need of political supports from the central and local government to vitalize the station influence areas.
