Report Errors
This research is designed to study the dynamic relationships between the content of suicide reports and committing suicide by examining how the suicide report of newspapers affect the suicide related perception. First, it analyses the suicide practices through content analyses of comments about suicide places, and comments about suicide reasons. ARIMA time series analyses are conducted to examine comments about suicide places, and suicide reasons through Naver search trend. The findings show that the articles about suicide do not observe the recommendation of suicide report. In addition, the portal search amount increases when the amounts of comments regarding, such as suicide places, suicide procedure, and suicide reasons, grow in the portal site. We conclude that imprudent news report might affect the recipients’ suicide related perception and information search.
