The article discusses how the Korean Churches do mission for reconciliation of the South and North Korea where suffering and pain have been full since the Korean War during 1950-1953. The article consists of three parts: The Korean War and painful context of Han -peninsula, memories of suffering and pain from the division of the Han-nation, and mission for reconciliation of the South and North Korea. The first part describes the 4 stages of development of the War and analyzes the personal loss and economic damages and after-effects of the War. The War influenced to form the divided state system of South and North Korea. Separately the both countries ran its own way politically, ideologically, culturally and socially but became full of suffering and pain. The second part analyzes the literatures in the South Korea and those in the North Korea which articulated aesthetically pains and suffering caused due to the division of the nation. The literatures were ascribed to memories of pains and suffering from the divided situation of the South and North Korea. The article enumerates 4 methods to heal the pains and suffering and to reconcile the victims and attackers. Finally the method using memory and reconciliation is regarded not to be bad to heal victims personally and socially. The third part suggests how the South Korea and the North Korea heal victims and reconcile its own society respectively. Simultaneously, the article stresses to reconcile the South and North Korea which have been developed heterogeneously. For the healing and reconciliation, the article emphasizes to find truth through the memories of pains and suffering. Truth should be discovered through the "dangerous memories" in the historical events which caused the great injuries and damages in both Koreas. Thereafter the truth leads victims to execute justice or to decide forgiveness. The continuous dynamics of truth -justice or forgiveness promote reconciliation between victims and attackers in the society and between South and North Korea. The article concludes that the Korean Churches are asked to formulate a theology of reconciliation based on memories, to do metanoia of mind and heart, and to develop reconciliation strategies. More important is spirituality of reconciliation for the Churches which is rooted in the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The spirituality can lead victims to forgive the offenders and to learn remembering the past.
