The purpose of the article is to find Han Kyun-gik`s(1902-2000) view of church faith. He is one of the most admirable pastors in Korean church history. This year is the 100th anniversary of his birth. Many Korean protestant recognize that he is "one of the great religious leaders," and "a genuine pastor for mission" in a viewpoint of pastoral care and personality. In the second half of the 20th century in the history of church in Korea, his influences on the politics of church and the administrations of church and the pastoral care and the social services of church are really enormous. How did Pastor Han understand the situations in which he lived in a dimension of pastoral tasks? As an exemplary pastor and an administrator of Korean church, what did Pastor Han insist as the tasks and the goals of Korean church that every church should labor to fallow in his age? What kinds of influence gave Pastor Han who was a modeling presbyterian pastor to Korean Presbyterian church`s shapes and missions of faith? And, what is the core about the faith for church that he himself pursued and Korean church shall follow? To give good answer to this matter, it is necessary to survey the situation of his age that he understood himself. And also, it is important to research four characteristics of church faith that he considered as the true model of faith. They are "the evangelical faith," "the puritanical faith," "the ecumenical faith," and "the faith of pastoral care of social services by church." Through surveying the characteristics of his faith, we can understand his pastoral tasks and goals which he personally pursued as a pastor. Lastly, in conclusion, I will shed light on the significance and the criticism and the prospect about the role and the meaning of his faith for church.
