The purpose of this study was to strengthen mentality by applying the phased PST(Psychological Skills Training) program to 6 male gymnastics players for H university. The mental training for gymnastics players was carried out totally 22 sessions for 12 weeks. It required twice on the average per week and 30-90 minutes per time. A place of mental training was carried out at a lecture room and at the drill hall where players train. The stage of mental training was progressed in order of the preparatory stage, educational stage, and training stage. In the preparatory stage, the question are was prepared in order to confirm the baseline measurement in 2 times, the individual analysis and interpretation, the competition reflection of using open-ended question. In the educational stage, it carried out education on importance of a goal, method of establishing a goal, significance and technique in breathing, relaxation and imagery, and established the consistent gymnastic-routine behavior by reflecting on a series of behavior, thinking, and feeling according to characteristics in each item for gymnastics. Finally in the training stage, it carried out on the basis of the progressive relaxation and of a scenario of diverse imagery contents with starting from breathing on the mat for a floor exercise at the drill hall, and applied routine to the training process. The following conclusions were obtained. Players were indicated to be higher than other factors in the imagery ability and team unity. Anxiety-reduction ability was indicated to be the lowest with being followed by concentration and showed the higher score in all factors of the 4th time. As for the attention style are showing almost perfect profile in the 4th time while being developed into the desirable attention style from the 2nd time. However, in the 5th time, the negative attention style in the internal overload and in the restrictive non-effect is showing the high score. As for the evaluation on a researcher who developed psychological training were indicated to have evaluated more positively.
