To measure SHR, the tail-cuff method was used: before exercising, and then at the 6-and 12-week intervals: to cheek the level of hormon at the same intervals, 5cc of blood was extracated from the heart`s right chamber. The results are as follows. 1. Three was almost no change, at any of the time intervals, in the blood pressure of the exercised and controlled groups after exercise. The compared group, hower, showed a drastic increase in blood pressure at the 12-week interval. which is a typical symptom of high blood pressure. 2. There was a marked increase in the levels of epinephrine of the compared groups over 12 weeks. However, there was neither a difference nor an increase in the epinephrine levels of the exercised and compared groups. 3. there was a steady increase in the levels of norepinephrine of the compared and controled groups over 12 weeks, the exercised group, however, showed a constant decrease for this period, after which the level of norepinephrine nearly approached the one found in the controlled group. 4. There was an increase in the renin activity of the exercised and compared group. The controlled group showed almost no change over the 12 weeks. These results indicate that the endurance exercise of suppresses the increase of the blood pressure in SHR, and decreases the level of norepinephrine so that level approaches the one found in the controlled group. The results also indicate that exercise causes a change in the level of epinephrine, norepinephrine and renin activity(all significantly linked to variations in blood pressure), so that with exercise, typical symptoms of pressure can be effectively prevented.
